Local Businesses Join Forces
at "Alive After Five" Oyster Roast
to Help Hurricane Katrina Victims
Charlotte, NC, September 7, 2005 — An uptown Charlotte tradition, the annual "Alive After Five" oyster roast at Mimosa Grill, is expected to draw an even bigger crowd this Thursday. That's because all funds raised at the event will be donated to help victims of Hurricane Katrina. The Carolina Wellness Coalition, which was originally designated as the charity to benefit from the oyster roast, has relinquished that role and its 80+ sponsors are helping promote the fundraiser. Other local businesses are volunteering to lend a hand to make sure this "Alive After Five" is a huge success.
Media outlets are invited to use the venue as an opportunity to promote their own fundraising efforts for hurricane disaster relief. Television and radio stations are welcome to broadcast live. If you are interested in setting up a remote broadcast, call Mark Darvill, General Manager of Mimosa Grill, 704-343-0700 (office) or 704-737-1907 (cell).
